This is a simple and fun way to reuse vinyl records. If you just cannot part with any of your collection (I know, I know), then make a quick trip to the second-hand store and pick up some Air Supply or Peaches and Herb.
What you’ll need:
- Vinyl record(s)
- Oven-safe bowl
- Cookie sheet

1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees farenheit.

2. Place bowl bottom-up on cookie sheet, and place record on top. Bake for five minutes.

4. Pull out of the oven and shape the bowl to your liking. If it helps, place the record inside the bowl to shape. If you aren’t satisfied, put it back into the over to soften. When you are happy with the shape, let it cool for two minutes until hard.

See how easy? Not the most original craft, it’s true, but definitely worth a go if you haven’t done it before.

Alright, heralding in this new type of post, I have this fun project. It may be a little tricky, and you probably need some knowledge of knitting, but it is definitely doable if you are interested. I got this pattern from Chocolate and Vodka and Americanized the knitting lingo. Enjoy!
Beginning Specs:
Needles: US 3 or 4 straight, US 2 or 3 straight
Yarn: Light or medium worsted; something colorful, yo.
Gauge: I got 9 stitches per inch in double rib. I’ll advise in pattern.
Pocket Backing:
1. Cast on 16 stitches. The cast-on edge should be about the length of the iPod wheel. Knit in double rib (start with two purl). Continue until the piece measure 3 inches. Place on a stitchholder or extra piece of yarn.

Main Sleeve:
2. Cast on 40 stitches. Knit in double rib until the piece measures 3 inches. Knit a couple more rows and end on the wrong side facing.

3. On the next row, knit double rib for 22 stitches, bind off in double rib for 16 stitches, and finish off the row in two purl.
4. On the next row, knit 2 stitches, transfer the pocket flap with a double rib, and knit double rib for 22 stitches Continue knitting in double rib until the entire piece measures 4 inches. Change to the smaller set of needles and continue working in double rib until the piece measures 6 inches. Bind off (loosely) in double rib.

5. Sew up the sides and bottom securely, fold over the tighter-knit edge, and weave in loose yarns. Though it looks smaller than the iPod, it will stretch and look nice in the rib pattern.

Slide in your favorite mp3 player and tuck your earbuds into the pocket. Enjoy!
